Massage

“There is more wisdom in your body than in your deepest philosophies”  – Friedrich Nietzche

When I was 10 years old I remember having my first ‘on the couch’ massage, I was hooked! So yeah, I love massage, I guess always have!

The benefits of massage are pretty awesome, from pain relief to detoxification, supporting the movement of lymph around the body (which is as good thing!!) to helping with all manner of emotional situations. Massage is often looked at as a treat or worse an indulgence, but really it is a healthy and powerful way to support and love yourself.

Massage for me is a very personal thing and regular massage is a personal process. It’s about letting go and learning to relax (yep, I said LEARNING! Relaxation is not something that comes naturally to our busy minds so don’t feel bad that you can’t dive into a blissful relaxation at the drop of a hat!!) In saying that, I often see self-professed ‘non relaxers’ bliss out really quickly when they are the treatment couch!

There is a belief that we store our past experiences in our body, I am one of those who see this as truth. I have come to this conclusion through my own experience as a ‘client’. I have regular massage and I see this idea as truth time and time again. As I acknowledge the physical pain/tension in my physical body I always gain insight into what’s happening in my emotional body. I see how everything we think and feel are linked. However, whatever way you view yourself, your body and your experiences, I am happy to support you in whatever healthy way works!
